A recent report shows that the meat found in certain hot dog brands are not what was advertised. No, it isn’t rat parts (I hope)… it is more like pork being found in kosher brands.
Oh and they also found human DNA in the hot dogs.
Darryl Dawkins, former 76er and known around the world as “Chocolate Thunder” has passed away at age 58.
According to the Lehigh County, Pennsylvania coroner’s office, Dawkins died this morning at a hospital. Dawkins’ family said a heart attack was the cause of death. Officials said an autopsy was scheduled for tomorrow.
Dawkins was selected No. 5 in the 1975 NBA draft by the 76ers. His “Chocolate Thunder” nickname, he often said, was given to him by legendary singer Stevie Wonder — who is blind.
So there is a place called Turkmenistan (who knew).
40 years ago the Russians were drilling in the desert and thought they found oil. They didn’t. They found natural methane gas. Like a whole bunch. They decided to set it on fire to get rid of it (because that makes perfect sense).
It has been burning for 40 years.

According to HitchBot’s creators:
hitchBOT’s trip came to an end last night in Philadelphia after having spent a little over two weeks hitchhiking and visiting sites in Boston, Salem, Gloucester, Marblehead, and New York City. Unfortunately, hitchBOT was vandalized overnight in Philadelphia; sometimes bad things happen to good robots. We know that many of hitchBOT’s fans will be disappointed, but we want them to be assured that this great experiment is not over. For now we will focus on the question “what can be learned from this?” and explore future adventures for robots and humans.
Why Philly? Do we always have to be known as the assholes of the east coast? I can’t wait to see what the lovely residents of the “City of Brotherly Love” will do the thousands of visitors coming to see The Pope.
Update via the CBC:
Some of the robot’s followers went to the area to retrieve the remains after the incident, and its “brain” containing the software is still intact, Smith said. His team is now arranging for the parts to be shipped back to Canada to determine the next step of the experiment.
This one goes out to Mr. Anderson, I suspect he plays the same way.
This isn’t happiness posted a series of pictures of the real building that was used for the Ghostbusters iconic firehouse.
About FDNY Hook & Ladder No. 8:
Exteriors shots of the Ghostbusters headquarters were filmed at the FDNY Hook & Ladder No. 8 Firehouse, located at 14 North Moore Street, at its intersection with Varick Street. A small parking lot at the corner of West Broadway a block away was “a staging area for foam and vehicles … [for] the classic” 1984 comedy. The interiors of the building were filmed in Fire Station No. 23 in Los Angeles.
It is sad that this dog can jump rope better than I can.
